Hobson May Collection has dated this piece to the Regency era.
The folding top opens to reveal a chess board within oriental and floral borders. The decoration continues on the lyre supports and base, an indication of the quality of this piece. The table is in good condition, there is some slight wear to the top, but this is not detrimental(please see photos for a detailed view) , the decoration is generally in good order, you would expect some wear and marks on a table that has been in use for over 200 years. The inside decoration is in excellent order. The stability of the table is very good, standing firmly with no wobbles. This is a rare and beautiful table, a superb example of the style and elegance of the Regency period.
