Pair of 19th C Walnut Bedside Cupboards

Description

A Pair of 19th C Walnut Bedside Cupboards, Side Tables.

Each with a raised tray edge, sweeping upward to the bowed rear, the centre of which is decorated with a flower in leaf.

The tops with an ogee mould edge, above the tambour fronts with small brass knob handles, opening in each direction to the interior. The bowed frieze centred by carved leaf and flower decoration, between cabriole legs, with scrolled carved flower and leaf knees. The legs tapering in channel moulds to the scrolled toes.

The sides with fielded panels, and bowed frieze rails.

Date c 1880.

Height 28 inches, width 20 inches, depth 13 1/2 inches.
