Magnificent Antique English Sterling Silver Art Nouveau Photograph Frame - 1912

Description

An exquisite and highly decorative Art Nouveau photograph frame with superb repousse decoration of flowers, swags, garlands and an inverted heart to the centre at the top.

The sterling silver front is fitted to a solid English Oak back having a folding easel stand.

The silver has a full English hallmark for Birmingham 1912 together with the makers mark for the top-notch silversmith, James Deakin & Sons - John & William Deakin. This example is also lucky enough to have an English design registration number, 596269, the design being registered in the year 1911.

Superb condition and a large size measuring 9 3/4" tall x 7 1/2" with a glazed aperture measuring 5" x 7 1/4".
