Description

A fine quality marquetry inlaid Edwardian Period two door bookcase probably by Edwards & Roberts of London. Having a rectangular top made from plum pudding mahogany, banded in satinwood and with a fine marquetry and pen-work inlaid panel with ribbon and swag floral detail. The frieze with similar marquetry inlay above the twin glazed mahogany doors, opening to reveal an adjustable shelved interior. The doors are flanked by mahogany pilasters with trailing harebell marquetry detail. The mahogany ends cross banded in satinwood and with boxwood line detail, all supported on square tapering supports. English circa 1900-1910
