Regency Mahogany & Cane Filled English Library Or Bergère Chair

A Regency mahogany and cane-filled library armchair dating to c.1820. With acanthus carved scroll arms and a serpentine reeded front rail it stands on turned and reeded front legs in the typical Gillows style with square tapering outsplayed legs to the rear, it has brass castors and removeable beige seat and back cushions.
 
In good solid condition with no breaks and original colour and patina to the timber, it is slightly faded to the right side, the cane work has been redone so is in very good condition with only two minor breaks to a horizontal cane each side of the arms, there is a slight gap to the sides where the top rail joins.

Depth - 28 ¾in (73cm)
 
Height - 37in (94cm)
 
Seat (without cushion) - 19in wide x 22in deep x 14 ½in high (48.5cm x 56cm x 37cm)
 
Seat height with cushion is 18 ½in / 47cm high
