Elmgarden has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
This is a lovely old piece, originally a Mule chest has been converted into a much more practical sideboard, by having the centre panel placed on hinges to form a cupboard door with access to a long shelved cupboard and it has 3 drawers at the bottom which have lions mask ring handles

The carving is of very fine quality, it has scrolls acanthus leaves and flowers, set in 4 arched scallop chamfered panels, the top is made from 2 planks of thick oak and the piece is set on large Georgian style bracket feet

The chest or now sideboard is 56” long, 20” deep and 41” high
