Oak case, the swan neck pediment hood with turned columns and shaped sides. Over an ebony inlaid door flanked with reeded columns. Ogee waist mouldings, inlaid base panel, bracket feet. As well as its remarkable human face the brass dial features lovely pierced spandrels, the Latin legend Tempus Fugit (time flies), a separate chapter ring, seconds dial and date display. Named for Thomas Joseph of Merthyr Tydfil in South Wales. Associated eight day works striking the hours on a bell, cleaned and overhauled and sold with a one year guarantee.
