A Rare Victorian Silver 'Acorn' Thimble Case

A rare example of Victorian novelty silver sewing ware. This is a lovely thimble case, fully hallmarked, with a hinged lid and formed to represent an acorn. The interior has a velvet lining to contain the thimble. There is an associated thimble included. The lid forms the acorn cap and inside is fully gilded. To the top is an attaching ring for chatelaine or fob chain. A fine collector's piece, usable today. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent with no dents or splits. There is one small dimple and a few surface scratches commensurate with age and use. The thimble included had an enamel panel which has losses, but is included free of charge and is to demonstrate use.
