~ French - Circa 1880 ~
~~ Excellent condition ~~
A Superb gilt brass clock of fine detail, in the Baroque style. The clock is modelled with open fretwork of foliage with two stylised pillars of the winged cherubs.
Beneath the dial is another cherub. The fretted front and sides of the case allow the pendulum to be seen swinging within the case and the back door is glazed to allow the movement to be seen. The clock is surmounted by a swan neck pediment.

The French movement is of very good quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum has been replaced. It runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent with clean finish and there are no losses. There is some wear to the original gilding on the high spots and some discolouration or tarnish. The dial is also in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, there is an original firing fault on the number 7 cartouche.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
