Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the late nineteenth century, these objects combine deeply cut lead crystal dishware with silver-plated metal frameworks. Design elements often reflect naturalistic and Asian artistic influences, such as faux-bamboo metalwork, foliage, and avian figures.

These items were typically constructed from hand-cut lead crystal glass mounted within electroplated nickel silver (EPNS) or silver-plated brass frames, frequently featuring cast or chased decorative handles and feet.

Authentic period examples display hand-cut facets with sharp geometric diamond patterns, maker marks stamped into the metal rim or base, and natural tarnish or oxidisation on the silver plate consistent with age.

Place the basket as a focal point on a dining table or sideboard, either displayed empty to highlight the reflective metalwork and crystal facets or used to present fruit or decorative objects.

Wash the glass dish separately using warm water and mild soap, drying immediately with a soft cloth. Clean the silver-plated frame with a specialized silver polishing cloth, avoiding abrasive chemicals that can wear down the thin silver plating.
