Unusual Large Antique English Crystal and Brass Inkwell C.1880

Description

A most unusual and impressive desk-top inkwell made from heavy crystal and solid English brass.

The glass inkwell can be removed from the circular base and the hinged domed lid is cut with an attractive final to the top. Once opened, there is a removable liner which was present when we purchased this piece, I am unsure if it would have originally had one as it's not really needed, but we have left it intact.

A lovely quality piece in excellent condition, minor wear commensurate with age. The footprint measuring 4 3/4" in diameter x 7 1/2" tall. Victorian in era dating to c.1880.
