Antique English Tortoise Shell Box - Original Label

Description

A wonderful late Victorian or Edwardian tortoiseshell trinket box dating to around 1900.

The hinged lid has a gently domed top with a stunning piece of antique shell having been used with beautiful markings and colours ranging from golden champagne to rich chocolate brown.

The underside is lucky enough to have retained what looks to be the original price label, charming. it looks to be priced at eight shillings and sixpence around 45 English Pence today or 65 American Cents!! (Sorry, the price has gone up!).

3" x 2 1/2" x 1 1/4" tall.

Excellent condition without damage measuring
