William 1v Rosewood Writing Slope with Campaign Handles.

19th century
Description

A top quality Rosewood Writing Slope, dating from c. 1830 and the top and front have been decorated with brass inlay and brass reinforcing of the edges and corners.

Inside there is gold tooled document wallet set into the top, with three secret drawers concealed beneath the writing surface.

The ink bottles are original, the upper fall locks, the writing surface has been relined.

This writing slope comes with original "Tompson" lock with wonderful engraved escutcheon and original key.

This is a quality writing slope, a wonderful example and one for the connoisseur, not to be missed.
