Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The wing sides shaped and swept to upward curving hand holds, between the seat. The winged sides continued below the seat, to form an enclosed area fronted by a bow frieze with further Greek lettering. The bottoms of the wing sides repeating the arcading of the covered top.
