Description

A wonderful example of a more decorative than usual french Louis Philippe style mirror. The outer edge has a running mould whilst the main central hollow section has a very well executed "whitecut' floral pattern, with a burnished and worn appearance, giving a superb contrast to the surrounding gilding. The main top edge is burnished water gilding with an attractive evenly-worn appearance, showing the burgundy / liver coloured clay, which was used between 1820-1840 in France. The mirror retains its old mirror plate and backboards.
