A quality French Empire period mantel clock surmounted by a bronze cherub putti with torch. A white marble case with black contrasting mouldings. Finely detailed gilt adjustable feet. A gilt and enamel dial with finely cast bezel and dial centre. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell with silk suspension. Circa 1820.
