Two Great Western Railway Gwr Locomotive Pressure Gauges Circa 1910

1900 - 1920
Description

A Salter's 'Bourdon' Locomotive Brass Pressure Gauge, no. 59331, for Great Western Railways (GWR), the brass case and bezel now oxidised with silvered 0-200lb gauge. The brass backplate stamped GWR to the outer rim. 20.5cm (8") diam. Glass replaced with some dents to the bezel, otherwise in original, uncleaned condition.

Together with another GWR brass pressure gauge, 0-200lbs, with silvered dial, hand painted red arrow indicating optimum pressure, often found on locomotive pressure gauges. The brass backplate stamped GWR with the serial no. 110596. The glass with crack and chip bottom right but not significantly imposing on the main glass. 20.75cm (8 1/4") diam. In original uncleaned condition.
