A Gorgeous Georgian Silver Caddy Spoon

Description

A gorgeous silver caddy spoon from the early 19th Century. This splendid example has a turned hawthorn wooden handle and a deep shovel shaped bowl. Georgian caddy spoons are always widely collected and the shovel style are somewhat scarce nowadays.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or losses to the handle or bowl. There are two very minor tears to the edge of the bowl, commensurate with age and use. These are shown in the photographs.

Hallmarks :- Clear and readable.

Maker :- John Lawrence & Co .

Date :- Birmingham 1818.

Length :- 9.5 cms.
