Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1750s.
The octagonal rim with a bow shaped edge, sweeping down to the flat centre, pierced with a flower pattern, surrounded by dotted holes and bowed holes, the whole to allow the movement of air, or drainage of washed cress.
The centre with a star burst, between which flowers grow. The underside of the rim with seaweed decoration, the bowl standing on three tapering outward curved feet.
Date c 1750.
