Description

Very impressive & large antique French display cabinet is excellent condition & of high quality throughout. The most striking feature of this cabinet are the gilt bronze mounts & feet. You need to enlarge all the images to see the fine details on the gilt fittings. The bottom door panels have stunning mounts on them, especially the middle one with a scene of birds among floral features. The base has well defined hairy paw feet in gilt metal. There are so many great features, I can’t possibly mention them all. The glass in the middle door is bevelled & the two outside glass sections are bow shaped. The inside of this cabinet is also polished mahogany, with two thick glass shelves & a brass light fitting attached on the top. The outside is mahogany too, with flame mahogany panels below. There are gilt metal mounts everywhere & this is a heavy display cabinet. I would date this piece to around the 1920’s period.
