A beautiful 18th century pine Marriage Chest in very good condition for its age. It dates from 1789, from what we can see of the original paintwork to the front of it. These chest's were traditionally given as wedding presents - An old chest would be made and specially painted for the happy couple.

Nowadays they make excellent shoe boxes for the hall or boot room, toy boxes, blanket boxes or even as a coffee table alternative.

This particular chest has a candle box inside.
