A Large Glass Ceiling Light

1900 - 1920
Description

Circa 1920-1940, this is a beautiful quality ceiling light with no signs of damage or scratches anywhere, and the large glass dome at the top shows no signs of wear. It may never have been used.

The light measures approximately 36cm in length from the hook inside the ceiling fitting and approximately 30cm across at the widest point. The shaped glass top fitting is 10cm wide and there is 30cm of original chain. We can supply a chrome ceiling fitting if required as this may look best with this particular light.

It has proved hard to photograph because the quality of the drops bounces light around, so we darkened some of the images to try and show the shape and style of the glasswork. All of the glass sparkles, even when not lit up.

The light has been rewired by a qualified electrician and it takes a single, standard bayonet lightbulb.

Postage and packing within the mainland UK has been included in the price, but for remote areas or abroad, please contact us for a quote for delivery.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
