Signed by the artist, and the foundry (Barbedienne of Paris). Superb original patina. 37ins (94cms) high.

Emile Oscar Guillaume (born 1867) produced "La Deliverance" in 1914 as a celebration of the First Battle of the Marne when the German army was stopped before entering Paris in August that year. A 4.9metre high example is displayed in Finchley, North London.
