C19th George IV period mahogany knee-hole dressing table or writing table in the manner of Gillows of Lancaster & London.

High quality mahogany table fitted 5 drawers around a central knee-hole . The drawers with mahogany linings and each fitted with an original turned rosewood knob pull .

Raised on turned legs fitted with original brass cup castors . The 'quilted' figured mahogany top fitted with a three-quarter mahogany gallery surround .

In exceptional original condition, retaining the original polish and patina .

Well proportioned 'country-house' table of outstanding quality and condition.

The design,quality and choice of selected mahogany timber , leading to a probable attribution to the esteemed cabinet-making firm of Gillows of Lancaster and London.
