Antique Yumut Turkoman Asmalyk Rug. Circa 1870

Description

Very fine and rare mid to late 19th. century Yumut Turkoman asmalyk or camel trapping of most unusual pine tree pattern design. Wonderful pallet of colours. Very finely woven with the turkish knot. In very fine condition for its age being virtually full pile. Just a little of the salvedge missing each side. This particular design is rarely seen.

Size; 47" wide, 24" high to point.
