Superb Antique Georgian Mahogany Bureau Desk C1780

Description

This is a superb antique george 111 mahogany bureau and dating from aorund 1780. Constructed from quality mahogany it has a fall front with original brass escutcheon & cover and opens to reveal a very nice interior with a central mahogany door with brass escutchein and working key to either side of which are two long drawers with original small ivory knob handles and being pine lined and with pigeon holes above and a shaped frieze to the top. It has a later green leather embossed writing surface. To the base there are four long graduating drawers all of which are pine lined and with original brass handles. It is moulded to the base and stands on bracket feet.

This stunning bureau is in lovely condition with a deep colour to the mahogany with original patination and oozing the charm and character of the georgian period.

It measures: 43" high X knee height 31" X 20" deep X 42" wide
