The oak case with a chamfered pediment and concave lower moulding above the bevelled glass window, fronting the dials, marked for barometric pressure, and weather indication on two plates; one for '10AM YESTERDAY' and the other for '10AM TODAY'. The dials engraved for the maker 'Mosley, 17 Cornmarket, Oxford'.
The dials with adjustable cursors to record yesterday's and today's pressure, the cursors controlled by two reeded circular knobs below the dials.
The central body mounted with a thermometer recording fahrenheit and centigrade , within a bevelled glass case.
The body with chamfered edges. The lower section spreading to a broader ogee stepped cistern cover, finished with an ogee lower mould. In good and accurate working order.
Date c 1870.
Height 40 inches, width 6 3/4 inches, depth 3 1/2 inches.
