In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
It has a lovely shape with a curved arms and turned spindles. It has four legs, terminating in the original castors. The chair swivels on a large bolt and is adjustable in height. It also tilts backwards when you lean back in the chair.
It is approximately 38" (97cm) high and the arms are 21" (54cm) wide across.
It is in good condition for its age. It has developed a lovely aged patina and is structurally very sound. It is not without a few small marks here and there and some old minor splits but nothing untoward or detrimental for a chair of this age. The seat covering is in good condition with no major splits or tears and the mechanism for tilting and swivelling is in good solid working order. Most importantly it is very comfortable!
