Item: - Scottish Provincial Silver Fiddle Pattern Toddy Ladle.
Description: -An antique Scottish provincial toddy ladle by the Aberdeen silversmith William Jamieson. The toddy ladle is of fiddle pattern with a simple oval bowl.
Date: - circa 1820.
Period: - 19th Century.
Engraving: - The terminal is engraved with the crest of the Bannerman clan, and motto 'Pro Patria ('For my Country')', within a belted garter. The initials 'DHJ' are further engraved underneath the crest.
Maker: - William Jamieson.
Measurement: - Theladle measures16.1 cm and the bowl is 4.8 cm at its widest point.
Weight: - 32.2 grams /1.04 troy ounces.
Item No: - 929/01.
Condition: - The ladle is in good antique condition. Surface scratches , and minor marks to the bowl and handle commensurate with age. Please see photos for confirmation of condition.
