Japanese Meiji Period Bronze Fisherman Okimono

A splendid Japanese Meiji period bronze okimono of an elderly fisherman depicted on the move with his tobacco pouch tucked into his obi sash, carrying his removable fishing rod in his right hand he has an ikebana basket on his left shoulder supported with his left hand inside which is a large fish wrapped in bamboo leaves. This fine bronze is beautifully detailed and is impressed with a maker’s seal on the base, it is in excellent condition with no damage and stands 10 inches tall.
