Pretty Antique English Sterling Silver Jewellery Box - 1915

Description

A lovely quality jewellery box made from English sterling silver standing on three cabriole legs.

The hinged lid is framed with a continuous rope decorated rim and the centre with is engraved with the most stunning engraved classical design.

The box opens to reveal a beautiful original teal coloured silk lining.

There is a full hallmark on the exterior of the box (rubbed) and a crisp partial mark to the interior of the lid. The hallmark was struck in London in the year 1915, so a true antique example. The box is a good heavy example weighing 5.89 Troy Ounces / 183.4 Grams.

Excellent condition, measuring 3 1/4" diameter across lid x 1 5/8" tall.
