A Fine Quality Gilt Brass and Mahogany Four Glass Mantel Clock

Description

A fine quality gilt brass and mahogany four glass mantel clock stamped AD Mougin Paris and monogrammed VMBC c.1880

The beautiful quality gilt brass and mahogany four glass mantel clock, with decorative cut glass columns flanking the case and applied gilt brass appliqués.

The fine quality gilded case with stepped and shaped mahogany base surmounted on four gilt brass ogee feet, with a shaped and moulded mahogany top.

The thick bevel edged curved glass to all sides with opening front and rear doors.

The dial with enamelled chapter ring and engine turned dial centre with gilded decorative outer bezel.

The fine quality spring driven 8 day movement striking the hours and half hour on a single curled blued steel gong, with rise and fall mechanism.

Stamped on the back plate with circular makers medal A D Mougin Paris.

Beautiful blued steel hands.
