The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1920s.
Tavannes was set up by Henri Sandoz who previously had a company in his own name.
Many watch making factories bought in their movements but Tavannes made their own movements, such as the one in this particular watch.

The movement is stem-winding and is working nicely. The high grade movement has jewelled pallets, a Breguet hairspring and micro regulator which is signed with the Tavannes Watch Co, Swiss made and U.S.Pat 24 may 1904. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50.3mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 10ct gold filled and is Moon model by the English based watch case maker Aaron Dennison. There is some minor marking to the case but overall it is very acceptable for its age.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is a glass lens which is in nice condition.
The white enamel dial is signed with the original retailers name Hisler Trowbridge, There is slight wear to the lettering but otherwise it is in nice condition.
The watch has its original blued steel hands.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
Price includes worldwide postage.
