A large 1914 Elgin pocket watch & chain.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working well. The movement is signed with the Elgin Nat'l Watch Co, U.S.A. seven jewels and it has the serial number 17638502 which dates it back to 1914 when it was included in a run quantity of 2000.

The watch measures 58.6mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop so it is a larger than the standard 50mm pocket watches. The case was made by the Keystone watch case company and is made of Silveriod. It is a good solid case with a screw-on bezel and case back. The case has light surface marks from use but overall it is in nice condition.

The thick glass lens has light surface marking from use although very acceptable.

The dial is enamel and it is signed Elgin and has red outer minute markers. The dial has a faint hairline crack at 12 o'clock although hardly noticeable to the naked eye but otherwise it is in nice condition.

The watch has its original blued steel hands.

The watch comes on a vintage nickel albert chain with fancy links.

The chain measures 31 cm long including the T bar and clasp.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
