Antique Mahogany Writing Bureau Desk

1900 - 1920
Description

Good solidly made antique mahogany bureau in good original condition & dating from around the 1910 period. The top & the slope are flame mahogany with cross banding on the edges. The drawers too are flame mahogany, with original brass handles & fine dovetails. There are also locks in all the drawers & we have a key for the writing compartment. This bureau has sliding loafers which support the writing surface & it sits on bold bracket feet. The inside writing compartment is nicely designed, with three small drawers, shaped pigeon holes & a small cupboard in the middle.
