Description

A very fine, solid mahogany throughout, 24 drawer collectors cabinet circa 1870.

This cabinet is in very good condition and has 24 solid mahogany drawers with closely fitting glazed tops which sit above a hidden universal cell in every drawer. The top two drawers on each column are deeper by half an inch allowing the collector to accommodate larger specimens. All the drawers, however, are capable of holding continental length pins.

This is of exceptional quality, the drawers all have an ebony line to the base and the hand turned original knobs are in highly figured ebony. The drawer fronts are matched in a 'fiddle-back' veneer onto solid mahogany. All drawers run well on hidden bearer runners.

The cabinet is constructed of rich honduras mahogany and is well figured, even the back of this cabinet is in polished mahogany. Solid door panels and all original shoot bolts, hinges , lock and key.

Continental depth drawers base lined with papered cork.
