Hobson May Collection has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
This platter in a good rich blue, was produced by John and Richard Riley at their Burslem pottery which was established in 1802. They produced fine blue printed ware until the firm closed down in 1828. The condition of the platter is good, there there has been minor restoration to a small area of the rim, this has been very well done and is not very easy to see. There is slight wear to the glaze at the back understandable on an item that has been in use for almost 200 years.
A dood decorative patter in a very desirable pattern.
