This is a wonderful solid sterling silver desk set in its original box.
This six piece set comprises a silver-handled ivory page turner/letter opener, a sealing wax holder with an extra stick of wax, an uninscribed seal, a matchbox cover complete with matches. All these items are hallmarked for Birmingham 1901, with the maker''s mark of Henry Matthews. There is also a quill pen by William Harrison Walter, Birmingham 1905 and a pencil, the hallmarks on which are rubbed.
The box is lined with green silk and velvet. The outside of the box has a few knocks and scrapes, as would be expected from a set of this age.
