Description

A late Victorian rosewood desk with inlay and tooled leather writing surface to top. There is a hinged section to the rear, which when lifted reveals stationery compartments and raises the back of the writing surface. For a steeper slope there is a button at the back of the desk which raises the slope further. The desk has a full width front drawer over a lockable hinged drop down door, where internally it has two shelves, ideal for documents or laptop!. This is a very practical and adaptable piece of furniture and does have signs of wear to the surface and minor losses of veneer which is only to be expected from such a useful item and replaced castors. Measurements are ; Width 30ins(77cms) x depth 20ins(51cms) x height 30ins(77cms) - rising to 33ins(84cms) at its steepest. Viewing welcome by appointment in Silsoe, Bedfordshire.
