Fine George III Mahogany Verge Bracket Clock

Description

JONATHAN SCOTT, LONDON: a fine 18th century mahogany BRACKET CLOCK which retains its original verge escapement and is in perfect working order.

The case is of finely-figured mahogany of good patina and features a bell top with cast brass handle; gilt spandrels to the front door and a plinth base. The 8-day verge movement strikes hours on a bell and features a particularly well engraved backplate. The chapter-ring-and-spandrels dial has "Strike/Silent" in the arch and a date aperture above "VI".

Measures: 18.5ins high excluding the handle; 11ins wide; 7.5ins deep (47 x 28 x 19cms). An impressive George III Bracket Clock.
