Silver Mounted Thomas Webb Cameo Glass Claret Jug 1887

A fine cameo glass claret jug by the Stourbridge glass factory of Thomas Webb & sons, white over citrine with a most unusual aquatic theme, decorated with three large scallop shells amongst seaweed. This beautiful claret jug has a hallmarked silver mount & handle with finial topped cover, dated 1887 assayed in London and made by Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings Shepherd, marked on the side of the mount and inside of the hinged lid the jug has a polished pontil and is in excellent condition standing 9 ½ inches tall.
