~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A lovely early Rococo clock by Japy Freres. Flamboyantly modelled in gilded bronze, waisted case with with swirling acanthus, 'c' scrolls and flowers. The lower part of the case is fretted to allow a glimpse of the pendulum swinging within.

The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with blue lettering. It is complete with original finely fretted hands and convex glass.

The French movement is by Japy Freres and is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. It is an early version of the Pendule de Paris movement with spring hammer stop and silk suspension. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition just some slight nibbles to the winding holes.
