Very impressive & high quality antique burr walnut bureau bookcase, dating from the 1910 period & in good original condition. Please enlarge all the images to appreciate all the amazing features. This piece is a real character item with a good original colour. It has a dome top, with two burr walnut astral-glazed doors & there are adjustable shelves inside. The burr walnut pull down slope has herring bone inlays with cross banding outside of that. The drawers also have herring bone inlays around the edges & that have the original brass handles that are naturally aged. The drawers are finely dovetailed & this bureau bookcase sits on bold bracket feet. There are two pull out loafers which support the writing slope when open. The compartment inside is magnificent, with shaped small drawers, dividers, pigeon holes & a single cupboard in the middle. I can’t stress to high the quality of this item. It’s a heavy piece, but does come apart into two sections. This bureau bookcase is about 100 years old & is a very good copy of an original Queen Anne piece from the 1700’s.
