1912 Waltham Traveler Hunter 'Elk' Pocket Watch

A 1912 Waltham Traveler full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 18,576,843 dates it back to 1912. The movement is protected by an inner cover which has some unevenness.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold filled and was made by the Philadelphia Watch Case Company. Both the front and back of the watch have a beautifully detailed image of an elk. The front cover has some unevenness, more visible from the inside, and the back cover has a previous owner’s details inside… there is some play in the hinge for the back cover.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. The acrylic lens is in good condition… the original glass lenses were often replaced with acrylic if they broke as it was much more durable.

The white enamel dial has a couple of faint hairline cracks but not too detrimental at all.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
