Antique Georgian Oak Bureau C1780

Description

This is a lovely antique george 111 oak bureau and dating from aorund 1780. Constructed from solid oak it has a brass escutcheon to the fall front with working lock and key this opens to reveal three shelves to the centre either side of which are two square drawers with a long drawer above and three pigeon holes to the top. It has a later brown leather writing surface. To the base are four long graduating drawers all of which are oak lined and with original brass handles. To each corner there is a quarter turned column. It is moulded to the base and stands on bracket feet with canted corners.

This is a quality george 111 oak bureau with good colour and patination and oozes the charm and character of the georgian period. It measures:

45" high X knee height 31" X 20" deep X 45" wide
