A stunning quality Japanese Meiji period carved boxwood okimono depicting the Japanese legend of Gamma Sennin the toad immortal, an alchemist said to have learned the secret of immortality, beautifully carved depicting him standing on one foot holding a staff in one hand raising a toad aloft with the other. This fine okimono is signed on the underside and is in excellent condition standing 6 ¼ inches tall.
