Rue des Fontenelles has dated this piece to the 1950s.
Hector Chavepeyer was born in Chatelet in 1893. He was a student of C Montald at the Brussels Academy of Fine Arts from 1909-1913.
He was also a member of the circle of 'Enter Nous' in 1950 and has works in the Museum of Rheims and Charleroi.

As an artist he generally painted landscapes, genre and religious scenes. During the first world war his work evolved into a more expressionist style which allowed him to better express himself.
