A Fine Quality French 19th Century Rosewood and Ormolu Mounted Armoire

Description

A fine quality French 19th Century rosewood and ormolu mounted armoire. Having a domed solid rosewood cornice with fine acanthus carved detail and surmounted with finely cast floral ormolu mounts and finials. The central arched door having a bevelled mirror and opening to reveal a brass hanging rail, which would originally have had shelves. The door flanked by raised pilasters again with finely cast ormolu mounts. The lower section having a concealed oak lined drawer again with acanthus carving and ormolu mounts. French 1860-1880

Dimensions: 87" high x 41" wide x 19" deep (internal 13" deep)

Condition: This wardrobe is in excellent original condition, cleaned and waxed. There is one piece of carving missing from the cornice. The interior has been changed from shelving to a hanging rail.
