Large Victorian Double Rimmed Papier Mache Tray

Description

A stunning 19th Century papier mache tray with an unusual double rim. This large tray is beautifully decorated with flowers and foliage in gold and scarlet. The decoration is concentrated around the outer edges which highlights the fabulous shape of this 19th Century tray. The condition of the tray is very good, the decoration is bright and shows very little wear, there are a few minor surface scratches to the front and two small areas of wear to the back of the tray, these are not detrimental and as can be seen in the photographs, the tray is very well presented. This striking tray would make a very decorative addition to any interior scheme, either as an eye catching wall decoration or as a stunning table top.
