17th.c. Coffer with Original Carved Front Dated 1660.

Description

Superb 17th.c. carved oak coffer dated 1660. Original decoration to the front with carved detail to the panels, moulded mullions and a carved frieze across the top with the date 1660 carved in relief. Panelled lid, sides and rear with moulded mullions to each (an unusual feature on the rear of a coffer). Original oak floor boards. Later iron hinges and an old repair to the front where a lock had been fitted. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.

Dimensions: width 56½", depth 23", height 27".
